Featured English Cake Tongs?

    hello guys,this is my first time posting my silverware collections,this has been years in my collection,but i don't have any idea about the information of this cake tongs,can anyone help about what is it,the ages and the value?could it be 19th century cake tongs?thank you

    p.s.there's no mark in it

    :hilarious: Oh dear. "Tongs" not Thong (which is something else entirely!)

    That style of tongs - flat surfaces inside and close to straight edge - suggests "sandwich tongs" to me. The large distance between the 2 spatulas where they leave the handles is what helps the tongs work for sandwiches (as opposed to some smaller food item.)

    Silver plated at best, but without any maker's mark, difficult to say from where. Probably 20th century.

    Could be pretty recent, they are still making that style.

    do you think mid 20th century are okay with the date or late 20th century

    I have no idea, but a few decades doesn't make any difference to the value in this case. It is not antique, it is not brand new either. And the manufacture is not specific to a certain period, so don't worry about the time frame.;)
