Featured English Tortoiseshell tea caddy but seller said Chinese

    To me it looks like a very nice Georgian English with a Scottish influence tea caddy, I don't really see it could it could be anything else ....

    There are indeed fakes with simpler form, so mine is really a quality fake lol

    it just that you either take risk and find deals in small auctions and second hand websites, or pay more to high end dealers for reassurance (but do remember everyone can make mistake)

    They're not but I do love T/shell, as in T/shell sewing items, boxes etc ...

    Yes, I look for other clues that point to pieces being genuine, a bit easier with sewing boxes if the interiors are fairly intact I find.
