One thought... if the colors I'm seeing are true to how the painting looks in person, it may be coated with cigarette smoke. It's possible if it were cleaned the colors would pop more.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I really like the image that shows the texture added in his work!

You know, I think it’s the lighting (or lack of). I guess it’s a possibility, I found it on the curb. I collect a lot of stuff and i am not a smoker and notice the smell immediately. It’s usually beyond obvious to me. But again, certainly a possibility.

On the curb? Wow, I'd never throw out a painting like this.

Yes, on the curb. Literally moments before the garbage truck. True story. I collect antiques, but usually stay away from art. This piece was yelling out at me. The crazy and unfortunate thing is the only other things next to this were two floral bouquet original oil paintings, which in hindsight, I would say were Eric Linnell as well but I didn’t know what I know now at the time, and they weren’t my cup of tea, quite simply. When I got home and googled his name, I saw all the floral images and my jaw dropped. Dead ringers for sure, now in the local landfill.

It may not be a top tier work, but I like it. :)

If the still lifes were like the ones I see on the web, in my opinion, they're not nearly as good as the landscape.

And yeah, the still life’s we’re exactly like the ones you see on the web, and why I didn’t gravitate towards ‘em.

I put this on eBay for $45. Does this seem reasonable?

I am simply excited it might go to a good home since it was mere moments away from being face down in a garbage truck!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I hope it sells! (Or that it sold...)

    Fig,

Thanks for checkin in. Yes, it did sell! I am now officially a fine arts dealer and nobody can take that away from me! I would love to disclose the buyer, but the party would like to remain anonymous, which I respect. Anyways, it’s pretty cool!
