Hi originally from Paisley in Scotland now living in Norwich, England. I collect old money boxes that banks here in the U.K. issued to encourage saving, and also Brown & Polson memorabilia

Welcome! But I have no clue what "moneyboxes" you are talking about, and who are Brown and Poulson? LOL!

    Hi Silverthwait.
Thank you for your reply.Brown & Polson were the largest manufacturers of corn flour in the early 20th century alas like many others no longer. With regards to the money boxes these were pre-decimalisation in the U.K. Once they were full of money you would take them to the bank who had the key and they would unlock it and deposit the money in your account

My sister-in-law is an exiled Scot, and she used to live in Norwich, but that was over 20 yrs ago. It is a beautiful town.

    Hi rhiwfield
I have a few keys but my collection is over 150 different money boxes and the banks kept the original keys

So do original keys have good values, or is there a trade in duplicates?

I can recall a few of the money boxes but 150 is an amazing number!

    Hi rhwifield
There is someone selling duplicates on eBay for the few common money boxes. Keys sell for £3
