Featured Fang mask?

Hi all, would love to know what you think about this one. It looks to me like a Fang Ngil mask similar to this but it is missing a few key characteristics like the love heart shaped face.

It's been burnt in some areas and dyed white in others to achieve the two tones.

Maybe a modern creation that does nod adhere to any traditional styles? It does seem to have some age though

I believe you have an incomplete Dogon Kanaga mask. You have it mounted upside down. You don't show the full back, but in the one view there is a carved recess that would have held one of the typical cross bars.

Note the same "ears" and the diamond shape at the top of the head.

 

Cant believe I got it the wrong way around...! I think that has to be it. There is evidence that there were once 2 crossbars. Another mystery solved Thanks so much again 2manybooks!
