We bought several porcelain lots at auction recently. Most were Royal Worcester pieces, most were damaged, many I had never seen before. Some are merely uncommon, like the P series figurines, so we wont post those

Rather than creating multiple threads, I'll post photos on this thread with the challenge that you find a photo of a matching piece. (Our twitter photos do not count!)

Item 1:Hand painted miniature female portrait damaged chocolate cup, KPM Berlin style. Note the face in the handle

Item 7. Royal Worcester Kate Greenaway Boy. Unusual colourway. 1932 date mark (3 interlinked circles). We know that the c1880 version was RW800 and 1919 version was RW2725. But we have not seen one with this colourway.

I was thinking 'Apollo' but it was the radiance I think I see that led me there. Helios is an aspect of Apollo, as Luna is of his sister Artemis, so Helios would be a good description. My first reaction was Medusa, then decided more radiant than snaky.

Very nice, regardless of the damage.

The first chocolate cup face looks like "who broke my chocolate cup?!!"

The second chocolate cup face looks like "I hope she doesn't suspect me of breaking the chocolate cup!!

Difficult to photo (and difficult to see anyway!)

    Here it is.

With the naked eye the top of head seems to have spreading hair with a simple crown above, the entire head being surrounded by the dots to give a ray effect

It certainly is. All I can say for now is that it is not Helios/Apollo. Female, I think, & the ruffle around the face is merely decorative, not significant. The glare spot may be hiding some other clue, but don't make yourself crazy trying to capture it. I fiddled with pic; best I could do:

Strange beast = wild boar? May I just comment that your collection, with one or two exceptions, is a gathering of rather unappealing...um...physiognomies?
