Found two weeks ago. One of five ukulele purchased. 1930s Schireson Hollywood Ukulele, pretty scarce. Sold to a high end collector.

 

wowzer, looks a beauty, super condition as well, only a lil bidda fret wear so can't have been played much (crime) super flat body

I was at a yard sale a few years ago. A guy grabbed the ukulele. I grabbed the 14k charm bracelet for 50 cents. He was having a ball playing it, though. Nice instrument!

 

I found some things that I am donating to Mew to You, my cat rescue. The original gold stamp made in the USA Lenox does very well there. I passed on any Lenox Special pieces (they are imperfect.)
I did spend $55 for the Holiday Christmas pieces, and there are two ball ornaments, I forgot to photograph one. There are two bowls (stacked) and three heart dishes. The rest was $20, including the whisky decanter,$2, the Schonwald vase,$ 3.

I still don't know what it's worth, besides zero since it can't legally be sold here, but it's cool. The Lenox above is pretty, but a tough sell here. I found a little snowdrop vase of theirs years ago and will soon be literally giving it away. Might as well.

 

We got a Lenox Cake Knife for our wedding 45 years ago-the brand was gold back in those days.We got candlesticks and a bowl,it was the good stuff we used when the folks came to dinner-now it's at many of the thrifts I frequent and just sits.

 

Yup. I've kept the family pieces but leave the rest to others. It still sells but not for much.

 

We've kept the sentimental pieces too.Fashion comes and goes.

ANY dishes with metallic edges - dead in the water. No one wants dishes they can't put in the dishwasher or microwave. Some lady on Nextdoor was badmouthing a local auction for only paying her $20 after fees for her expensive formal china. I told her she was lucky it didn't just "pass", which is the flat truth.

As I've said a million times - anything made to be collected is now landfill. You can sell a Hummel here and there again, but not for much. I just bought one in fact, but it's all white and a madonna and child.

I watch some UK auction/presenter stuff and ... Georgian mahogany pieces can be had for pennies there. No one wants the dark wood. I think it's actually starting to change now as the Millenial flatpack victims are looking for sturdy low-priced items to put in their blood money houses. Those who can afford one.

 

Furniture's gone thru an Armageddon.God,folks would sell their blood for a quality roll top in the old days.
I guess the kids are filling their 500K starter home with IKEA flatpack ?

Nice Ephemera Tiquer.
Certain particular types of Ephemera's gone thru the roof in the last 40 years-much used to go in the dumpster in the past.
Daguerreotypes & Ambros used to be $3-$5 ea,Tintypes were semi-junk .Advertising handbills,broadsides & catalogs can be very collectible depending on subject matter.
