Here's my antique stuff. Tort glows teal in the dark. My camera probably made it look even brighter with it's auto correction, but it's very noticeable in person.

I found this 3min ytube video of a gentleman showing the difference between various real and fake objects under a blacklight. The fake stuff looks yellow or purple. The real stuff was heat treated, molded, and layered together so it doesn't always present how you'd expect and it doesn't hurt to check. :D

VV was my sterling silver friend today:) 2 bags of souvenir spoons and one bag of odd and ends silverware yielded me these:) the 2 serving spoons are London 1834, the demitasse spoons are Enchantress by international sterling and a mixed bunch of souvenir spoons all marked sterling. I almost didn't go because the weather was windy and rain this morning, I'm so glad I sucked it up and went.

It turns up here if it was made in China. The case that used to hold jewelry and video games is now missing a shelf and holding Target clearance health and beauty stuff.

Some of these have been with me for awhile & others have just arrived in the last few weeks. As I was saying in another post I was very shocked to see how many sterling cap perfume bottles were in the small display piece . :jawdrop::rolleyes::rolleyes::smuggrin:

These are some other pieces that inhabit the same cabinet & got some cleaning done.

    upload_2025-4-8_15-29-6.jpeg

The red & clear one is marked Czecho Slovakia on the collar. The green & clear one's cover cap is Cloisonné over sterling.

The one with the dragon? on the lid is marked gold filled.

    From today's clearance.

A large silver / silver plate coffee pot.

Not determined which it is yet, no marks apart from Arabic/Indian/Persian script on the base.
No sign of polishing nor tarnish

1970's 1 Litre bottle of Ballantine's Scotch Whisky.

It's marked Duty Free, to be exported from the UK £7.60:rolleyes:

I've seen others on vintage whisky auction sites asking £225:eek:

It came with an unused cut glass decanter, to add to the collection.

As if I haven't got enough.

I'm leaning towards Moroccan and silver plate from research.

The whisky will be fine, unopened whisky can last indefinitely, and its quality won't deteriorate I'm leaving it sealed, there are some serious prices for vintage whisky at past auctions I have looked up.
