Pretty piece of silverplate. (that's the A1) I went to a church rummage sale today, which usually means good pickings at great prices or used to. Got there a bit before 8AM to be at the head of the line.

I should have gone to a FoaF's funeral instead. The jewelry table was still almost full when I left; even the silver sat. They had it priced fairly decently for people used to paying retail, but the first ins are always resellers and people like me. We left it. Cute little trinket boxes? Left those too. The one I liked wouldn't stay closed, and the other was overpriced. I ended up with some sheer curtains for the living room - a little short, but new in package and unlike mine they're not ripped. I also channeled Komo and bought Ivory soap. Total spent: $12. For needing to lose about 3 hours' sleep, that's pitiful.

For anyone wondering, doors opened promptly at 9AM, I stopped at a charity thrift on the way home and spent $00.00. OTOH they had free help yourself slices of lemon pound cake. (nom) Sang for my supper by helping unpack some contributions that were more thanks-I-think than Thanks. Home by 11:30AM, and it took me about 20 minutes in the car in each direction.

I had a chance to go to a retirement community yard sale. Been there, done that, it's getting up at 4 am to be out of the door st 6 am with a lot of competition. I slept in.

A retirement community near where the church sale was has a somewhat annual sale too. I learned to bail on it quickly. There is never much there. Last year I went on the second day since I was in the area. Cleaned up on yarn for my sister, but the rest was a dead loss.

((glorp)) sterling KIDDUSH cup in the trash? I wonder what other stupid mistakes they make?

Alas I don't think this floats either. It was made for sale in Toronto, bilingual English/French packaging.

Now we're down to photographing soap.(LOL) The 10-pack I bought in the supermarket says Columbia, so no float. The one I bought at the church sale doesn't. Both are dual French/English markings. Go figure. They probably do that to save half a penny on packaging.

A very nice neighborhood next door to me had a community wide sale this weekend. I was able to have someone sit with mom and went down to check it out. What a load of crap. Worse than hoodwill ! Come on people, you live in $500,000 homes ! Put out something other than old clothes and plastic water bottles ! But I digress...picked up a few items I thought Id share.
This I had for a while .Its actually whiter than it photographs

Most shocking of all was a sterling coaster set found in hoodwill ! They dont even put silver plate out anymore so I was doubly shocked. I think they are so pretty Im going to save them and use them for those mythical dinner parties I'll never have !

Not my colors, but those Grandmacore types love orange.

They don't put out much silverplate here any more either, unless it's damaged or made in China. or both. How did they miss the silver marks? The jade looks like jade.

I spotted the original plug right away. The lamp works but needs a new plug to be safe imo. I am reselling it, so should I leave the orig plug and just advise buyer (my guess is yes)?

It's what Rummage sales are for. Estate sales too, if they don't send everything to online estate auction and trash things like soap.

Bought a large junk jewelry jar for $80 from a thrift store today. Another picker told me not to waste my money but I could see this hiding there.
