I agree....but it seems sort of sad when bubble-wrap is an exciting find.
We gotta get a life....or lives.

I like the car full of flowers. Hey, I go dumpster diving at Pier 1 Imports, they have great packing materials. Bubble wrap is EXPENSIVE. My favorite place to look is in back of the retail stores in Cape May. Last year, someone threw out a beautiful dress form, the modern kind on a wooden stand they use for displays. Dragged that home.

I was number 29 in line to get in. Lots of competition ahead of me. This was four bucks.

And I see some of great-grandma's spoons in there, the floral ones. She had the same pattern. It was in great shape because it was service for 6 and she had eight kids.(LOL) I used to love those big Parker(?) ballpoints as a kid, unless you lucked out and that's a fountain pen. Those were even better.

It's a Sheaffer knock off of the Parkers.

The red enamel spoons look nearly identical to some Aksel Holmsen spoons I had but they're Finnish by Kultateollisuus.

I just spent a while running through all the parts of Davis and Deibel that cover that period of time, Terry, regardless of maker. No match. I was hoping it might be Derby. Maybe Cheryl will know.

    Sorry.

Pretty similar to the Derby multi motif line of 1875 but without the bow. I would guess that's who it is.

I think it's the first time I have seen hanging game on flatware.

Me either. Plates and really bad oil paintings yes, flatware no.

The patent was issued to Edwin L. Brittin, he was plant manager and salesman at Derby silver at the time - possibility it was never a named pattern. There is an 1847 Rogers pattern with hanging birds called 'Game' that was introduced in 1892.

Bakersgma - I'm not at home to look, but might also find the same pattern with a Rogers & Brittin mark or Holmes & Edwards, and below is a link to a set of forks bearing a 'Wm. Rogers & Son' mark.

The patent number is D8910, showing forks with a rabbit, prairie-chicken, and woodcock, your nut-picks appear to show a woodcock and squirrel (appropriately), and the linked forks appear to have a pair of ducks. Associated patents are #D8909, with a 'Chinaman' bearing a yoke with hanging game, and #D8911, a fish knife with hanging fish, and a neriad riding a sea-horse and dolphin on the blade.

D&D only have 3 patterns for Rogers and Brittin and this isn't one of them. Their Holmes and Edwards pattern section is much longer, but again, no match.

I thought about the "Game" pattern too (I think I have a few of the cocktail forks.)

Rogers and Derby "shared" so many designs over the years, I am not surprised to see that listing you found, Cheryl! Unfortunately, it was a busy day, so I didn't have time to go snooping.
