looks even better cleaned up:) did you have a bit of turquoise for the replacement piece or did you do your magic and make it from something else?

I wondered that, I need some tiny turquoise cabochons.

Haha! No tin foil or resin here;)
I gathered bits and bobs, spare stones of all sorts since many years for my repairs, and had ONE appropriated turquoise for color and size:woot:
Obb, sure, every joolie needs tiny turquoises cabs:joyful:

That thing is NICE. I wouldn't expect to see something like that here for much under $150, so $30 (26 Euros currently - ran it through a converter) is just about stealing.

Yay, I was the only bidder!!! As it was in Fance, it was 30€ ;) and, last but not least as I'm in France, too, the shipping was 6€:joyful:

Wonder whether the snowflake on the bottom constitutes a kind of signature?

I don't know how that happened, but I wouldn't complain about paying 6 euro shipping on it either. :p:p:p

I don't think so, rather a decor with a popular decorative motif of the time:)

The engraved snowflake in a circle would make a nice pendant.

The motif is an octofoil/double quatrefoil - snowflakes don't have 8 (or 4, 5 or 10) points, always 6, or occasionally 1, 2, 3, or 12 points. Can still remember my Mom telling me that when I was a little girl, and teaching me how to cut out hexagonal folded paper snowflakes...

    Hi Cheryl,
I still cut out snowflakes for decorations. My nephews loved to see me whip out my scissors and produce snowflakes.

Me too, or three. I like decorating the light fixture in the dining room with them. Pretty and they don't weigh much.

Yep, small and not totally struck:facepalm:
Plus, it is not in the usual areas:banghead:
But as a lozenge shape, it is French :joyful:
