This is a necklace I just made out of a watch chain slide. The slide was found orphaned. It's gold-filled with a piece of Victorian yellow dragon's breath glass in the center. I'm not fond of the lines but they don't feel like cracks and it's glued down tightly. The spring ring is vintage but not ancient, and the beads are post-WWII. Scanned it in after I finished it, but my new scanner doesn't do well with non-flat objects apparently.

That bracelet looks like has some greenies - probably from the solder. Someone, I hope, thought it was gold-filled and charged as such.:smuggrin::smuggrin:

Just picked these two William Goodrich Beal original graphite drawings, 1892, listed Massachusetts artist.
They were labeled as etchings in an antique booth for $25.00 each.

After reading up on W. Goodrich Beal, I like these more than I already did. His illustrations are found in Dickens, Tennyson and Longfellow books among others.

Hi evelyb30, the seller knew it was gold but sold it to me for just a touch over melt. I took a soft, dry toothbrush to it and now there is no hint of green. I also tested it to be triple sure , the clasp and mesh test as 14k :)

The seller told me he cleaned it by soaking it in denture cleaning tablets, I think maybe he just didn't clean it off well enough afterwords :wideyed:

Is it dirty or is that just the color of the piece?
