Most of my finds from this weekend (and one earlier piece from a Goodwill auction that I forgot to introduce to you all)

First my auction win - pretty much a life-sized (about 11"/28cm long) ceramic chicken by Sutherland and Sons in Stoke on Trent, England (1862 - 1875). I believe it originally would have had a caddy and six egg cups inside ... but I've only seen one or two that still have theirs. Pretty dirty still - haven't attempted to wash up her white feathers.

On Friday, we went back to the thrift to see if they had put out some other pieces of the Steuben that we found earlier (surely the family that had the wine glasses would have had water goblets ... right?) Didn't see any more of that pattern, but did find a Orrefors skinny vase, some Waterford pilsners, a Baccarat vase, and a cute millefiore bowl of unknown origin with a bunch of little glass 'candies'. Today's find is the small agate/onyx bowl that will soon have a thread all of its own. I'm really trying to not buy any more glass ... but seriously ... how could I not??? (they were all very reasonable - I think under $25 for all shown below)

Also found some jewelry ... some at the thrift with the glass - 18K orchid pin, Courtney Designs sea turtle, and a cameo necklace marked 835 (?). Also found some, surprisingly, at the Salvation Army (where I rarely visit because they never ever have any decent jewelry) ... but this trip, the girl was putting out new jewelry and she handed me the box that she was pulling from and said "here, you can look through this" . Well ... OK ... if you insist Found the knotted amethyst beads w/ 14K clasp, the double strand of onyx and 14K beads also with 14K clasp, pearl and 14K bracelet that needs to be restrung, ivory half-hoops (for me!), and a police badge(?) ... all at $2ea. The sterling necklace with polished stone charms was another GW find.
