u pickup in Alexandria, Va. Free! Most are white oak, some pine and various other woods. All shapes and sizes of pallets! Common uses besides shipping include pallet rack shelves, furniture-making, fire fuel, barricades, gun-range target holders, etc. see our ad on Craigslist Northern Virginia, it has further info. Some other items for free are near the pallets, such as plywood, tool boards, etc. If you will take 20 or more, contact me and I will have a forklift there to load your truck.

Good to know, hopefully there's a demand for them here too, and they'll go away soon! I just added to my CL ad offering to load the truck or trailer of anyone taking 20 or more, using our Forklift. Have to go back to biz tonite to finish up some work and hope to see some gone or leaving. We were losing way too much expensive floor space to pallets we don't need.

Be sure to record any crazy or dangerous attempts at hauling them.

Thanks, great video, so Pallet Man, if you're watching, get our address from CL Northern Virginia and come on over! I noticed you only take ONE size of pallets! Well that makes sense since if you put even one odd one in those stacks you'd be likely to have an accident. Please come over with an empty truck! I hope u make enough $ to buy a trailer.

When I got to the biz last nite the stacks were a bit shorter, and on leaving 2 hrs later, a bit shorter yet. Surprisingly the pallet collectors left the stacks in perfect order!

Yes we could probably make $150+ if Manson's quoted rates applied to this area but I'd be happier if someone with ambition or need for money picked them up and benefitted from them. That's how I got started, odd jobs, selling anything where I could make a dime, etc.

The giveaway was going so well this am I put more stuff out and added pix to the CL ad, hoping to avoid having to drag heavy metal stuff to the recycler many miles away.

Good idea - let someone else make a buck and throw THEIR back out hauling it instead of you doing a number on yours.

Yeah, I've had back problems too but those are all behind me now.

Half the pallets are gone and two different parties contacted me saying they wanted all the rest. They know it is first-come-first-serve, so if they do all go away to one of those parties, I'll let the other know so they don't waste a trip. I keep updating my "successful" CL posting and would link it here but doing so may break some rule or other?

Only 6 pallets left. I had work to do so was at the biz today and really enjoyed talking to the pallet-users. A truck driver is building a shed with pallets as he saw done on you-tube. He and his wife made two trips from home with two vehicles at a time. A beautiful twenty-something female nurse was making some balcony furniture. A homeland security official was building picnic tables etc.

Somehow this stunning Latina got five pallets in her little Nissan. I asked to take a front-side photo but was politely turned down, says she avoids Facebook and all similar media.

How can you read my mind like that? Scary! Yes we put out other stuff including that pictured, about half of which left by 6pm yesterday. Stuff on left includes sections of cannon barrels and projectiles that make good paperweights and doorstops, but we have thousands of nicer-looking doorstops and paperweights (not to mention boat anchors!) already.

Smooth off the edges a bit and I'll bet those would sell nicely at a flea market. Guys could have a piece of a real cannon on their desks or whatever. I hope someone thinks of that.

Here's our youngest pallet customer, his dad, and dog. Dad mentioned that they all go scavenging twice a week. Note son's real work gloves!
I was happy they came; they took pallets as well as a good bit of the other assorted items. I now only need to take one partial truckload to the dump, and that'll be all cardboard and plastic, free to dump since they are recyclables.
