To heal my wounded pride over the Spanish coin fiasco, I bought five silver coins at a local coin shop...

    The coins are:

    Top: 1/- (1887 Golden Jubilee). 6d (1900). 3d (1896)} Sterling Silver.
    Bottom: 10c. (1902. Straits). 5c (1899. Straits)} 800 Continental.

I bought the British coins because...I like them.

I bought the Straits Settlements coins because they're part of my family history.

I can see myself establishing another collection - Antique silver coins. God help me

As a matter of interest, what do you pay for silver sixpences and thruppences over there?

I found some very nice pieces in those silver melt lots. Mostly when silver melt was low. Some i had graded and sold the trash I made very good $$ many years after when it hit over 35$ an ounce.
