How awful! Did such a poor job of it.

So-called antiquing kits were big in the late 60s-70s. Looks like this one fell prey to the trend. For what it is worth, fits right in with the current shabby-chic paint trend.

Yeah. I think it is marketable in my area. Certainly nothing close to what some of them go for in original condition. Not sure how well the atomic legs fit it though. May look better with no legs or at least some closer to the style of the cabinet.

Definitely the ebay one looks a lot better in my opinion, but I think someone will take this one at the right price.

    Agree about the legs.

Legs like that (furniture...) ;) always make me wonder just when the item is going to fall over just because. :p
If you have a Restore or Habitat, or the like around, you may be able to find something better. :)

Thanks for sharing this disaster. One can hope that it was in fairly rough shape when it was "redone".

Agree w/Brad -- sort of does fit into the "modern" shabby craze so will probably find a buyer without much trouble.

There is a currently a unsold lamp at my local goodwill, been there a few weeks. Tall, ceramic with lots of colorful fruits in a bowl -pretty well done, looks Italian maybe. HOWEVER it appears that someone painted the entire thing avocado green, and then someone else tried to remove the paint, got tired at the 80% point, and donated it.

As I recall, this look was called, appropriately, 'distressed'. Now seen as just distressing!

Nice cabinet with those original brass pulls intact. I'd put the effort into restoring it if it were mine.
