floblue1.jpg floblue2.jpg floblue3.jpg We have finished dividing up my parents estate. They lived in Jakarta for 3 years before they retired and the company paid for lots of help in the home and a chauffer (to risky to let employees drive) . My mother had nothing to do all day so she would head to the local flea market with the chauffer in tow . She bought every flow blue, gaudy Dutch or Stick and spatter she could find. She was in hog heaven. Most of the pieces are unmarked . A few have an impressed letter and a few are marked like the Adams plate. She managed to acquire 7 huge Pannenkoek platters. I have showed you 5 of them , here is one her flow blue ones. These pictures show you only the 1/4 I inherited. Her house was lined with a plate rack that was filled with over 4 times what you see here.

She found a few! I bet a lot of it is English but it somehow made it all the way to Indonesia. Very cool.

It's definitely blue, and impressive, but a lot of it isn't flow blue.

The ducks are transferware, for sure. The tale I heard is the "flow" was a mistake and the manufacturers send it to the USA and such and kept the 'nice' transferware for customers at home. Bedarned if the Americans didn't come clamoring for more. Whether that's true or not I haven't a clue.

There’s way too much flow here for us to have exported it all. Yes, a sort of mistake but it became very fashionable.
