Here's somethin' whacky you don't see every day!

I'm sure I'm not the only person on here who likes pocketwatches.

I'm sure I'm not the only person on here who has a couple of pocketwatch stands.

I'm sure I am the only person here who's ever seen something like this!

    Was it expensive? Nope.

    Is it valuable? Probably not.

    But it certainly is quirky!

My guess is that this dates from around 1880-1920. A decade or two either way of the turn of the century, and that it was designed for the traveling gentleman. The stand folds up so you can just stuff it in your bag when you go on a trip. It pops open and the hook holds your watch. There's a magnifying glass of a convenient size, power and distance from the hook to enlarge the dial of your watch, so that you can read it by candlelight in the middle of the night, should you wake up and wonder what the hell the time is.

I've seen LOADS of pocket watch stands, new and old. Glass. Brass. Silver. Wood. I've never seen one that folds up AND has a magnifying glass. I had to have it! It's so quirky!
