Featured Forbes Silver Co. #574. Anyone have any idea what this is?

    Could be a finger bowl. You realize that it's silver plated, right?

    Too small for a finger bowl.
    Master salt or individual nut dish - just guesses.

    Adding:
    If it is a master salt, there may have been a glass liner.

    I would agree, Pat, except anything with salt or acid on it has significant potential for corroding the silver, which is why they normally have glass inserts.

    (I've never had occasion to sit at a table with finger bowls. ;))
