I had a fun day treasure hunting....these are two maybe amber necklaces. I am trying my best to figure amber out....don't know how to tell pressed from reconstituted from copal. Here are pictures of two strands I bought- what are your thoughts? TIA.

    Amber. Also called amber chips.
The different colours under UV light are due to the different colours in regular light (chemistry).
Pressed is pressed into a specific shape, like round or oval beads.
Reconstituted is made from small pieces of amber that are heat-pressed together to form a bigger piece. When you see a lot of 'spangles', glittery bits, it is reconstituted.
Copal has no or whitish fluorescence.

Thanks all. A lady was selling stone necklaces for $5 a piece, so I grabbed these and other kinds.
