The worn blue image is a marking on the back, I've tried searching around different sites to figure out what its from but cant. Anyone know if this holds any kind of value besides the sentimental kind? Debating if I want to put it up or store it for later.

Thank you for all the help in advance!

Lovely! It's by a Bavarian company called Hutschenreuther. These are often referred to as "Royal Vienna style", but are not true Royal Vienna portrait plates. There are lots of collectors out there. :)

    Ditto.
I took the liberty of posting it full image, so people can see it.

Sometimes, if you look closely enough, the portrait will be signed by the artist/decorator.

Hutschenreuther made these? Huh. Why copy the mark rather than their own name, or were these plates decorated by outside factories?

The beehive is a Hutschenreuther mark. It has a little "door" in the hive while the bindenschild is actually not a beehive, but an upside down shield.

    That’s a very collectible plate.

I always wondered about the marks with the extra circle. Thanks for the info!
