I was so excited to find these!!!! I paid a lot of money (for me) for these, as they were presented as antique. I hope I wasn't fooled. Perhaps, someone here can help me tell. This will take two posts because there is a lot of information on one of them.

I will present the best one (in my opinion) first. It is the biggest at 2 inches tall. The lid is sterling repousse, and the base is supposed to be crystal. The second is slightly smaller. It has a lot of marks. It is 1 3/4 inches tall and has a floral wreath pattern on the lid.

The last two are the smallest at 1 1/2 inches tall. They are a set with initials engraved on the tops.

Any information will be gratefully appreciated.

First is from 1903, Birmingham England, by Adie & Lovekin.

Second one is American, but the 3 letters at the beginning of the mark are awfully hard to read.
Last looks like it says Sterling but there does not appear to be a maker's name or mark to go with it.

Is there nothing on the 2 small ones in the third picture?

As to "what" they are, I wouldn't say "powder" for any, but more likely for lotions or creams.

Lovely pieces @KikoBlueEyes and I do love the first photo the best. Something about those British marks make pieces like that feel extra special to me.

Yes. I was thrilled to see the English marks too. I was so excited to get this little collection as soon as it hit the shop.

I'm sorry. Just read your post more carefully. Major house project underway. Spending most of my time sanding and scraping - ceilings are ugh!
I looked again very carefully at both, and I couldn't find an additional mark. I agree this is strange. They are very shiny and reflect the interior lights, so I'll wait to it gets sunny and go outside and try again. They have gold flash on the inside of the lid, so they should be marked.
I thought boxes was a strange name too. That was what was on the sign at the resale shop. Thanks for the new search terms.

That was a very helpful search. Found a couple that had the same style tops but different sizes and decorations. One which was smaller said Birmingham 1906 but who knows if that is right.

Okay. I tried to find a mark on the small jars other than Sterling. I think I see numbers in the same place on both jars, but this could be "seeing cows in the clouds." I will post what I saw and see what you think.
