French buffet

inherited from French great aunt of 93 years old. Has been in her family for generations. Any ideas on age, style, value etc appreciated.

Pretty. Not a clue here about your buffet though, hopefully others will be along to opine and meantime, a bump can't hurt!

 

Until someone with some knowledge of "French Country" comes along, I'll venture the guess that your buffet probably dates back to around the mid 19th century.

That could be about right.

 

Most of us furniture people are here in the US so not as versed in European furniture. Mid to late 19th century looks about right for this but a look at the back and drawer construction might give us more clues.

From the style of the piece it is 19th Century. However, the hardware is definitely a mix of styles. Not sure if something was replaced over time or repaired with that. Definitely a picture of the back of the piece, a picture with doors open and a picture of the side of the drawer to see construction methods would help determine more about the piece. Although in the US I love, love, love French furniture and have quite a few pieces.
