Possibly. I think she may just have been a germophobe. An odd trait for an archaeologist.

 

My father used to do it 'in the field' to test the extrusion of certain minerals from archaeological finds in order to date them.
Or so he said......

 

Yeah Yeah Yeah, this may all be well & good but it kinda misses the point.
The point being poor 'ol Davey stumbled in here looking for info on a chinese/japanese ink stick. And a half dozen or so ladies with Kyra being the ring leader tried in vain to lead him down the garden path of putting that thing in his mouth for a TASTE TEST!
Fortunately, Davey had the good sense to refuse this offer and he's still with us today!
It was one of those......You kinda had to be there to get it and, unfortunately for Kyra, I WAS!

Did you get the piece? I kept and eye on it to see what it would do. Looks like someone(s) else thought the same thing you did.

I dunno... a lot of exotic and nasty viruses have come out of Asia... maybe we need to rethink what we put in our mouths.... just sayin'...

 

Some may consider I'm more nasty than most nasty viruses...
