It looks like I am the only one who would like to know how tall he is from the top of his head to the bottom of his shoes (I like his buckle shoes). ;)

I wonder what happened to Martha? His chest area looks "busty."

Well, there was an empty stand next to it. Probably was or got damaged and they did not put it out.

Information from the "Mount Vernon" historical site says that Martha Washington stood 5 feet tall.

Dang... That truss is pretty cray.

Nice doll - take that tape off immediately (under advisement)

Looks like GW. Made by a doll artist as seen by the initials, and dated 1974.

I have a set made by a local now deceased doll artist.

I'd have to look at mine to see if they are dated.

    Mine is a different mold.

More than likely that tape is cloth tape.

Just looked mine is dated 1976. 200th Anniversary.

I just noticed the tape you refer keeping the legs together.

That would be harmful to the cloth.

I removed the tape before I saw you comments and you were right, it left some sticky residue on the velvet pants. Maybe try to remove with cloth and iron?

One of the worst thing is when the handlers put tape on old lacquered pieces. Also, permanent markers for the price.

NEVER try to press velvet.......most of it is made of rayon.

It's a plush fabric and should never be pressed.

You might try holding a steam iron hovering the area and try to remove the sticky residue.

If it was a high ticket item, I'd take it to a dry cleaner and ask advice.

Not a high ticket item :) so I’m not that worried.

Considering what that thing is, the artist achieved a remarkable resemblance!
