Featured Ginbari Enamel brooch

I'm still sitting on a beautiful ginbari set that I couldn't sell for the cost of shipping, and the vases I've seen recently in person sold for maybe 25% of their cloisonne cousins. Make of that what you will. Going after me would be shooting the messenger.

 

perhaps we can see this set to see how terrible and unsaleable they are ? a comparison if you will

 

It'll have to wait for real daylight. Today was dark and rainy, and now is just dark. Brain fart: the set is 80s Chinese enamel. The ginbari is just a pin with a pendant bail. It's in perfect shape though. Both were selling for about the cost of postage as of that date. I have a NIB Japanese lacquered wood pendant that would have been worse.

Looking at what turns up in jewelry lots these days makes me realize I've likely donated better than they're selling.

Yup. I hope he gets luckier than I ever did. A local overpriced charity thrift had a little solid red ginbari vase for sale today. It was 25% off last week for Valentine's Day and only priced $3. It was still there. I didn't buy it.

These are the enamel set that has to be 40 years old now, a lotus pin, and the ginbari piece that will be here forever or until I give it away.

Simple if I knew it... can't apologize for telling the truth or posting a requested photograph. I'm on the Spectrum, so if there's something I'm missing it may need to be spelled out. I have holes in my interpersonal communication data set you could drive a truck through, in reverse.

Charlie, you have said it very clearly and even bluntly in several threads. Everyone I have known with a spectrum diagnosis would have picked it up the first time, because it is not subtle social interaction but very clear and outspoken. But if someone doesn't (want to?) pick up on something, even though you S-P-E-L-L it out to them umpteen times, they never will.

Of course you want to know what is written about items you put up for sale, I understand why. Bots pick up on it, and potential buyers can find any nonsense that is written in a thread and be put off.
The only solution I see is for you to post queries in the general forum, it is members only. The nonsense will still be posted, but if you put a certain person on ignore, both you and your items will be safe from it.
