Give away open to Well-Known members (participating members of long standing). All three catalogs as a single group.
    3 JMW Turner Auction Catalogs 1980-1982 -a.jpg

Offer ends Sunday evening (sometime), when we shall see what we shall see.

3 single subject auction catalogs, all consisting of paintings by Turner. Each of the catalogs has a foldout color image of the painting(s), and some additional discussion of it. Obviously the single subject catalog is used for items considered to be of exceptional interest.

J.M.W. Turner R.A.:Juliet and her Nurse
Sotheby Parke Bernet Inc, New York, May 29, 1980, Sale: 4384 (Lot 44)
A controversial painting in its day, the catalog includes contemporary criticisms, and Ruskin’s defence of it.
In an Argentinian Collection since this auction:

Two Important Paintings by J.M.W. Turner R.A.
    Christie’s, New York, May 19, 1982, Sale: Venice (Lot 62 & 63)

Going to the Ball: San Martino, Venice
Returning from the Ball: S Martha, Venice
Turner painted 2 pair of Venice paintings with the same titles. One pair is in the Tate. Not sure where this pair is currently, but apparently they were painted a year after the Tate pair. The catalog discusses confusion between these various versions, and mentions controversy that these also elicited.

Sotheby Parke Bernet Inc, New York, Oct 28, 1982, Sale: 4946 (1 lot)

There is a discussion of how this fits in with Turner’s later works, and of its provinence. (Re-sold by Sotheby’s in 2019)

Wouldn't know what to do with them if I had them, so I'll leave these for the next person.

Apparently you are not alone. Can't seriously say I'm surprised.

    This isn't a Turner crowd I guess.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I recently moved to a smaller residence, and am in the middle of donating items that don't fit. So, no... unfortunately. Turner's paintings are beautiful, and there is probably a lot of eye candy in these books.

Off the table and out the door.

Strangely, I'm not done and will be offering other things that may very well get the same reception.

Dang. Wish I'd popped in sooner as Turner is one of my big time faves. Next time...
