Glass jewelry casket box in need of repair

I mentioned this in someone's thread and I'm offering this as a giveaway. If more than one person wants it I'll do a random drawing. I'd like to offer this to regular forum users and will end it next Thursday March 24 to give anyone who saw my other post time to weigh in. Just post your interest in this thread.

I'll pay the postage anywhere in the US. Outside the US it will depend but I'd at least pay part and anyone can turn it down if it's too much.

It is an older box I picked up at a second hand shop maybe 10 years ago intending to do something with it and never have. It is generally a little sad but I've always liked it.

It is 4" long and in sunlight you can see the beveled thick glass is greenish though not so obvious in normal light.

It is missing it's lid though the hinge remains. The only thing I've done is give the hard parts a mild soap and water wash. No makers marks.

The fabric is glued to cardboard and is shredded with one remaining little "button".

 

I'm not in, but it could be a good project for somebody. Thanks for offering!

I wanted to come back and show you that I refurbished the little box.
I put new quilted padding in the bottom. I fabricated a new lid painted with an antique gilt paint. I embellished with a vintage scarf clip made in West Germany.
I think it looks OK!

I do love to fix broken things. Very satisfying.
It's too bad I couldn't find a piece of lozenge shaped beveled glass for the top. Of course I will keep hunting for such a thing........
