Glass vase looks black but...... any info?

I got this glass vase last week and thought it was just black glass but had a bit of sun shine through it and thought I saw purple. Put a flashlight in it and where the light shone through it there was a beautiful purple color.
7" tall and the opening is a touch more than 2 1/2" -
No markings on it but a pontil mark on the bottom.
Anybody ever seen anything like it before?

 

Amethyst Glass might be a good key word for searching.

The listing you found is seriously messed up. There is no such thing as EAPG black amethyst. Marlena Toohey in her A Collector's Guide to Black Glass 2 book describes this vase as "Decorated vase, 9" high, unknown maker, circa 1930s.
