This arrived in a box of jewellery. I’m interested to know if it genuinely has some age to it or if it’s wannabe vintage?
Any clue on the stamps inside or the pattern (Islamic?)
    Gold plated or something similar.
    Thankyou :)

Why do you think it's plated?

I didn’t think they were proper gold marks and the gold looks like it’s losing some plating but I could be wrong!

I think you might be. Get a magnet on it as a start, though.

I was wondering the same. Did it test as gold (or gold plated)?

I was also wondering, is this its clean state?

It looks like some kind of Niello or blackened work. Marks are familiar, can't think where. Star can be Italy or Spain, albeit this looks Middle Eastern.

Different stars and general marks, but I also keep thinking I've seen the marks before. None of my books are willing to cooperate.:(

I wonder if the “Star” could be a worn Lithuania mark?

The 'vytis', that Lithuanian knight on horseback mark, certainly resembles a star. But if it were Lithuanian it would have the fineness in the same cartouche.

It appears to be a very well worn "wedding" band. The first picture shows it has been resized. Doubt anyone would bother to do that with a plated ring.
