Edit your post and use full image for the photos. The piece has a "Florentine Finish" using a line graver. Are there any maker's marks?

I think I can see some marks, and the stones on the "green" part of the rose go all the way through. That's often a good sign. It's definitely a fur clip. It might be high end costume or it could be real; I've seen Mazer pieces that looked similar.

    Of rather, it's a series of numbers -- 1918.

Ok, so what does the series of numbers mean, if its not the date? Ty

Hi Rosie and WELCOME to ANTIQUERS!! If you have a strong magnifier or Loupe, could you check the areas I've circled in red for marks???? There might be something there!

A series of numbers is often a model number. Sometimes it's even a company name.
