Hi everyone, I hope all are well and safe. I need your Help with identifying these two pieces. The first is a brooch pin and pendant. It has no marking what so ever, but I am guessing Peruvian? The lock on it is a pull out latch, which I’ve never seen before and I am hoping you all could give me some information and age by the type of pin latch.

The second is a pendant with press turquoise inlay and it does have 925 on the back, very tiny, and was tested sterling silver. Any idea? Mexico? American Indian?

Thank you and I appreciate all your replies and have a great day!

Either that or Bolivian. Peruvian silver is usually marked, older Bolivian often is not. The symbol is the Sun God from the Gate of the Sun in Tiahuanaco, Bolivia. Tiahuanaco is on the banks of Lake Titicaca, on the border of Peru and Bolivia and both countries use the symbol.
    It is a nice one.

That is sometimes called a trombone clasp. Have seen them on Egyptian jewellery as late as mid-20th century, even though they had disappeared from European pieces by then. Your piece looks pre-columbian in motif.

I only wish I could help with the other one. It reminds me of Easter Island jewellery, but it is not quite the same. It is really nice though.

Sorry One more question. How old would you say the piece might be?

As many as you like, ezee.:) That brooch-pendant combination is usually 1950s-1970s. My guess is towards the earlier years.

    The other one is later.

No idea on either one; the Spanish are still using trombone clasps, and the French did too right into the 80s and beyond. So... no clue there. I suspect the Peruvian/Bolivian sun figure is 60s to 70s but there's no real way to be sure. The other one... my guess is 1990s. It's more Save the Children than artisan and could have been made anywhere for all I'd know.

Trombone clasps still get used all over the Middle East and Egypt, too.

And they were still used in parts of Europe in the 70s.
