    I think I can find out more about it. I got it at a thrift shop in my neighborhood and they got it directly from the owner’s daughter whose mom passed. I will keep you posted and thank you.

    they were afraid to polish it up because it's that old gold, but they did clean it

    I love the restoration. The color of the rubies doesn't overpower the diamonds or the delicate design of the brooch. Since the design incorporates an 8-pointed star, I'm wondering if it was made for its symbolic meaning. I also wonder if the squiggly parts represent sunrays. Or am I just pointing out the obvious?

    Absolutely gorgeous! Pearls would certainly look the part, but Citrines or Peridots would also be nice.
