They are a bit in one’s face; but I liked them, and they are very comfortable to handle and were cheap.

Filled with wine it would be more than sufficient to keep me going for a month or two. That’s probably true for water too, although if it were tea I would need several fillings at one sitting.

All I know about them is their physical attributes:

    Height 17.0 cm
    Bowl diameter 9.5 cm
    Bowl depth 12.0 cm
Volume 40 cl at 1 cm from rim
    Foot diameter 7.5 cm
Weight Between 218 and 260 grams
Colour Green with hint of blue

There are five of them. Two have one small bubble in the bowl, which may indicate something relating to quality or period of manufacture. Height is consistent; but no two glasses weight the same [would that imply they are handmade?].

I haven’t been able to locate the exactly same design or bowl size on the Internet and there is no manufacture’s mark on the glasses.

Anything you can divine about them would be appreciated.

My wife doesn’t like them so I will probably try to sell them if they might raise a few bob, or donate them back to the charity shop were I got them. I bought them in France.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the information. I have searched, but cannot see anything that corresponds to mine. I have a suspicion that they may be Italian, from one of the Empoli glassworks.

The search goes on. Thanks again, and good night.

I have now found out from a website that buys and sells antique glass that the are most probably 19th Century Bristol Green Rummers with polished pontils.
