    Hi all,
This little guy is 7 1/2" tall and heavy at 3 Lbs.
I am pretty sure this was made by Grey Iron Casting Co. probably in the 1950's
I have found several and probably Were sold as a pair with one painted like a Union soldier. I have not found any with the added Chevron and stripes that would make
this guy a Corporal. Maybe that was added but the paint looks the same as the rest of it to my eyes. Just wondering, do you think he was made originally as a Corporal?

The same color red is used for the stripe on his pants as the chevron. Not applied carefully too. In your link there is no stripe so I would assume it was add by the original owner, who had a preference for that rank.

Looking at your link to the bookends, I guess it was true that bothers fought against brothers during the Civil War. They clearly are twins. ;)

Yes they are the same mold. That is what makes me wonder if they were painted several different ways and not just soldiers.

With a gun in hand, you might be able to make a woodsman or other, but the Distinctive Civil War cap kinda limits it.
