A house clearance dealer didn’t notice the hallmark and I’m not really surprised.
It’s a bit of an oddity, the silver is only glued on, no pins that I can see. Is it even silver with that division symbol? But it has a 925…..
It seems odd to glue a chunk of silver onto an unprepossessing little address book, I think it’s leather bound but it’s very ordinary.
    C14cm x 11.5cm
Not sure if they started life together?
The mark on the left is illegible but is that an Italian star hiding in there?
Any help please with the date letter R, the division symbol or the squiggle at the end (g? 8?)
    Thanks for any help :)

Yes, it is Italian. The R is the post-1999 "Riempito" mark, for filled.
So your corner plate was sculpted in resin or mastic and covered with 1-2 grams (the 1÷2g mark) of 925 silver.

    About halfway down this page:

Brilliant AJ, Thankyou, that makes complete sense. I would never have found that!

I remembered the R mark, and knew Giorgio had mentioned it on his site. Sometimes my memory works. Other times, not so much.:joyful:
