Hello, I was cleaning out my kitchen and found this beautiful hand painted casserole dish that I'm guessing we recieved from my MIL. I'm curious if this is a vintage piece? If not I'll assume it was made by her. There are no markings or serial numbers on the back or sides other than the words 'Van Go' painted on the back. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? Thanks!

    Hi, Gracie, and welcome!

Any chance you or your MIL are/were from NJ? There's a "paint your own" pottery place in Tom River, NJ called "Van Go". Just wondering if this dish (pie plate?) might have been hand painted there.

    Looks like stencilled sponge work.
