At the Back Porch Treasures we have had this drawing on our research shelf for months. High priced art does not sell in the store. We had a Salvador Dali with certifications and it took forever to sell!

This was sketched by Harry Leith-Ross (1886-1973). It is in the original frame. The comparable sold original sketches are listed on the note card.

Question: Can you suggest a way to sell it without going to eBay. I would be happy to get $200 for it.

Is there a reason NOT to sell on eBay? You could start at $200 and see where it goes from there.

Well the shop where I work doesn’t allow eBay sales. It took a year of pitches to get the board to let us use Facebook Marketplace!

What you have there is a value study for a painting that may or may not have been painted.

You could contact some local galleries and see if they'd sell on consignment. Not sure where you're located and how strong the art market is, especially for this type of piece. If you can find the painting made from this sketch, it may help your cause. Probably a long shot.

There are online venues, but it doesn't appear that you have that leeway.

This looks like it could be the same locale. Notice the church off in the distance. The garage is attached, the entry way is on the left, not centered, etc. but very similar:

He grew up in Pennsylvania. Maybe his paintings and drawings are indigenous to the are. Hmmm

I have a study from a watercolor artist but it is actually watercolored not sketched. I cleaned houses in college and he couldn’t afford to pay me, I was irked. His name was P.S. Gordon.
