This is no longer fit to carry liquids due to the lengthy crack in the side. It was destined for the scrap bucket but I just don’t know if it is just an Indian brass pot or something else that maybe had a religious purpose. There’s some faint patterning around it. I’d like to be sure before it’s melted. It’s very heavy at 945 grams and 5 inches tall. Thanks for looking and any advice.

As long as it doesn’t get too full!
Think it may have been used as an ashtray as it had ash in the bottom, at least I hope it was cigarette ash.

I'd use that as a planter, rather than melt it.

It’s gone into the scrap pile. I found 2 this weekend from the jumble that I prefer for planters for £3 the pair.

I don’t know, perhaps the larger one is 19th, I thought the smaller one might be 1950s as I found another the same online that stated that. There was a lot of brass at this jumble, I quickly picked out what I thought was the oldest pieces with these two but I’m still wondering if I should have bought the brass tea set there with tray. Heavily embossed in the same way an Indian silver tea set would be, but I thought who would want to drink tea from it and polish it so I left it but I’ve been unable to find another set online and still wondering if I missed a trick.
