I’m not an equestrian but even to my uneducated eyes the horse has a somewhat unnatural body. Maybe if it had more artistic qualities we could chalk that up to artistic license, but combined with poor quality casting, it’ll work fine as a paperweight but falls short as a work of art. Thanks for including size.

It's leaning toward comical:). It also has the best hairspray ever....forelock blown back by the wind but mane perfectly in place.

It reminds me, in a way, of wind vane horses so I wonder if it's a desktop version of that style.

It reminds me of the very old Chinese Flying Horse of Gansu - also known as
the Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow.

It's the impossible balancing of that horse on one foot that makes me think this.

The tradition of the Gansu horse is that it is "perfectly balanced on one hoof which rests without pressure on a flying swallow.”

Yes, it is a rendition of the Flying Horse of Gansu, Han dynasty, China:

It has been putting its weight on the swallow, which the original hasn't. Poor swallow...

Yes it’s the Flying Horse of Gansu. I got this little bronze one from a rummage sale, some of them are lovely, this one is rather crude in comparison. 47F0452D-A2D9-4782-B358-B5A8AD4757FB.jpeg
