I happened upon this site as my unfruitful search for a basket identification was about to drive me off the edge. As I read through some of the conversations, it seemed so friendly and helpful.

Occasionally, I purchase auction items based more on their appeal than on what resale value may be. Items that have served a function (farm tools, old rusty brackets, ceramics, etc.) interest me most. Once I have the item my curiosity takes over and knowing its history and use brings a new level of appreciation.

Not sure I'll have much expertise to lend, but should be fun to learn and take part in the forums.
