    ]Hi all
Just joined and in need of some direction as far as identifying antique furniture. Please see pics. Completely stumped by the stamps on bottom and the engraving on pulls.
What I do know of the piece is that it has queen Anne legs... the hardware (drop pulls) appear to be original with hand engravings on back of each... and each pull is only attached by a small cotter pin (no threaded fasteners anywhere on this piece)... the dovetails are uneven and few at each joint... any other info would be much appreciated.

Welcome, Shamberly! Lovely piece, but the combination of languages is confusing. The English "Use No Hooks" is the easy part. The other stencils look like a non-Russian form of the Cyrillic alphabet - one used in a Balkan country perhaps?

I can read "Use No Hooks" but not particularly helpful.

That Rd and number look like an English design registration number. Probably applies only to the hardware, which the manufacturer of the whole piece would have bought in, rather than making their own.

Assuming the first digit is actually a 7, the design was registered in 1924 (which makes much more sense to me than the 1890 registration is it was a 1.)

20s for sure. Wood is mahogany.

Odd mix, isn't it. The handles are certainly British.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I can't make much of it from my phone right now. Maybe later today from my computer... or if a native speaker gets here first? Some of it seems like two layers of text, one stamped ovee the other.

the first phrase is basically the same in russian and english - use no hooks
the second photo says береза - birch tree

I apologize for the delay... work takes up most of my time during the week. Thank you all so much for the wealth of information you have given me. My family did not even know these things about the piece. That is, my remaining family... I have a feeling my great grandmother might have known more about it
