Can you help with dating this pansy vase? It's 7 1/4" tall and marked as shown. I've found that the paper label was added about 1946 and ended in the 1970s. Is there a way to tell a more specific time frame?
    Thanks!
    Janice

Queen Mary died in March, 1953, so that brings it in a little. Would they still have been promoting themselves in this connection all the way into the 70s?

Hate to say it, but to no one's great sorrow. She couldn't have had an easy time of it though, given who her in-laws were and that her first fiancee died, and what her older son was like, one son dying as a child and another in a WWII plane crash....

I love reading historical fiction, lately I have been reading a lot of books set in England during the period from WW1 through WW2. I was thinking the other day how differently WW2 would probably have gone, especially at the beginning, if Edward had not abdicated.

My Pa met her. Held the door open for her as she was leaving Harrods.

He also, as a boy, met Marconi, who gave him half a crown.

This is the Pansy Nouveau range on the 102 / 7" shape , i think there was aroung 7 or 8 different shapes in the range , it was made 1972/73 and designed by Walter Moorcroft, initially made for the American market, this pattern was only in production for around 18 months to 2 years or so. There was a bit of an issue with the background colour being contaminated with blue specs and fingerprints from biscuit placing , but this one looks to be a good example . Nice
