Orders for Loetz pieces were placed by jewelers and they applied the silver overlay, so that is why it was done by an American company. They also feel the &quot;MF 1909&quot; engraved on the silver represent the initials of the person who originally acquired this piece or who ordered it for a gift.</p><p><br /></p><p>They are not 100% positive, but they think the decor (the name for the glass and its finish) may be Delphi.
