    Could be anyone. Anyone named René. And not the work of a fully-formed painter. Does appear to be vintage. At a glance, looks 1930s. If you post a close-up of woman's head, perhaps we can confirm (or correct.) Anything on the back?

    I agree it can be a young painter's work, but it might be not as well, just maybe made for some private purposes, as a gift, for example. It looks lovely and definitely needs some cleaning which might reveal more diversity in tones that look quite plain now.
