It is a drop leaf table printed or stenciled on the underside of the table:

1929. M.

LEX. CHAIR. CO.

2/57

Handwritten: a large “69”

Printed or stenciled: 2 - 8

I thought that the "1929" was a model number rather than a date and that the M was for "mahogany." LEX CHAIR CO refers to Lexington Chair Company which the internet tells me is in High Point, North Carolina (USA). Is 2/57 a manufacturing date: February 1957? Am I correct or incorrect with these assumptions? I have no idea what the 69 and 2 - 8 mean. Thank you for your help.

The table is 38 x 26 ½ inches with leaves down and 56 x 38 inches with leaves up.[/QUOTE]
