Ok. It's probably two handles with two finials but four handles sounds better even if one has been “restored”. Technically gluing a handle back on is “restoring” it to its original position so if you want to be called a restorer go down to the hardware store and buy some glue and you're in business. This urn turned up at auction last week with an price range of $100-200 and no matter how hard the auctioneer tried we ignored him. He had two chances of selling it at that price range with a “restored” handle – buckleys and none. It turned up again this week with a price of $50-150 but no matter how hard he tried no-one would bid $50 to start it but I'm a sucker for these things so I put in a $30 bid and the auctioneer finally gave up and sold it to me. It's got some interesting text on the inside of the vase. There is a name that I can't decipher and either G910 or 1910 and 27/6 and 19/6 which could be the price in shillings and pence. The base has a mark that I can't find so far. Not sure which way up it goes but think the left one might be correct.

Can anyone identify or translate the mark??

Edit - forgot to mention the size for those interested - 46.5cm high 3.5Kg

Cheers

Stephen
