Help needed identifying mid-century armchair.

Discussion in 'Furniture' started by You're Welcome, Feb 7, 2019.

  1. Hi everyone!

Has anyone seen a chair similar to this one that I picked up over the weekend or know what it is?

    I'm guessing Eastern European, 1960/70s.

I'm looking for some clues to try find its origin.

    Thanks in advance!

I like it. I am not a furniture person, but it reminds me of Mid Century stuff.

I don't recognize it right off hand but would think Scandinavian in origin.

Agree with everyone, mid-century from that period. Could be many designers and companies, not necessarily Danish but could be. There will usually be marks underneath if Danish, so further pics could help identify who and where it was made, but I have the feeling the OP isn't around anymore?

  14. Heya,

Yeah it has a smudged manufacturer stamp but I suspect that you are wrong with the Danish guess.

A lot of factories moved their production to the eastern European countries to cut down costs back then. So it could just be made in the 'Danish Style'.

My guess is either Hungarian or Polish.

Has anyone seen this stamp before? This is on the underside of the chair.
