Please take a look at the image. We need to know what this could be. It has hand writing on the bottom "Lord Lifford 1874". Thanks for the help here! Emmit

    Hello
Welcome. In order to help please try to provide as much information as possible. What material do you think it is made of? Is it heavy? What country do you live in or what country did you find it in? Is there a story behind it? Ya know?:)

It's hard to tell what material it's made from in the photo, is it a ceramic of some sort? Are there any other markings other than what's written in pencil?

Often things about this size that look like candle holders are actually inkwells if period.

Its a type of glass, there is nothing on the bottom but the writing.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Almost kind of looks like a satin glass.....but I'm no expert there.....here are two images both enhanced, bottom one inversed.....maybe you can figure it out....at first I thought part was a date- 1877.....now am not totally convinced.... almost looks scratched in as well.......
