Help Needed to Identify Artist

Hi all,

I’ve spent a long time trying to work out who this artist is but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to make any progress so far.

The painting is a large oil on canvas in an elaborate gilt frame. There’s a signature on the bottom left of the picture which I can’t identify (but hopefully others can). Overall, I'd say the painting is fairly new.

I like the picture and would be very interested in finding out more information on it so all possible leads, suggestions, ideas would be greatly appreciated.

To my eye, the signature reads "Andy." And I very much suspect yours is a decorative painting. The subject is, of course, Harlequin.

One clue that things aren't what they seem... That quite grand-looking frame is held together with staples.

I hadn't appreciated that about the frame. Now that I look at it more carefully, the thumb-tacks also look a bit amateurish!
